CAIRO: Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amr has tendered his resignation, the official MENA news agency reported on Tuesday.
Amr is the latest and most high profile minister to resign after millions of Egyptians took to the streets to demand President Mohamed Morsi step down.
The ministerial resignations deal a further blow to Morsi who has been warned by the armed forces that he has 48 hours to solve the country’s political crisis or face intervention.
The president rejected the ultimatum, insisting he would continue on his path towards national reconciliation.
