ISLAMABAD: Following a heated debate between opposition and treasury benches, national assembly approves federal budget for fiscal year 2013-14 with a total outlay of Rs. 3,591 billion.
The budget said to be having initiatives to revive the national economy.
Before the approval, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar gave proposal to incorporate amended collection and levy of sales tax, excise duty and income tax slabs. Besides, amendments in salaries act were also approved.
Few of the initiatives for revival of the economy and relief to the disadvantaged segments of the society have also been approved in the budget.
