ISLAMABAD: With a barrage of allegation of polls rigging is not over yet in general elections on May 13, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decides to hold bye polls on August 22.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and other mainstream political parties have alleged ECP of not doing its part of the work in holding transparent and fair elections.
Imran Khan has also indicated holding protest across the country after Ramadan if investigations were not made in this regard.
In this scenario, ECP officials have decided to hold bye polls just after Eid ul Fitr, a holy event observed after the month of Ramadan.
Bye polls will be held on August 22 for which electoral process will start from July 3. It would be worth seeing whether PTI and its allies or PML-N and its allies would enjoy the confidence of the masses in bye polls.
