KARACHI: Prominent social worker and internationally renowned personality for human right activism Abdus Sattar Edhi fell down after having severe illness and was shifted to the hospital.
The founder of the Edhi Foundation has been shifted to Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT) due to illness where he is undergoing kidney disease treatment.
According to hospital sources, special attention was given to Edhi and resultantly he is getting better after the medical treatment.
Abdul Sattar Edhi does not need any special introduction as his organization Edhi Foundation runs the world’s largest ambulance service and operates free nursing homes, orphanages, clinics, women’s shelters, and rehab centers for drug addicts and mentally ill individuals.
Moreover, the social worker also carried out relief operations in Africa, Middle East, the Caucasus region, eastern Europe and US where it provided aid following the New Orleans hurricane of 2005.
