Cardiff: India on Thursday won the toss and chose to field first against Sri Lanka in second semi-final International Cricket Council (ICC) Champions trophy played at Cardiff Wales Cricket Stadium.
India have been undefeated in the tournament so far while Sri Lanka face the only defeat against New Zealand.
According to One Day International (ODI) statistics both team have faced each other 139 times. India manages to emerge victorious in 75 out of 139 meetings while Sri Lanka managing 52 victories against World Champions.
Both teams have met twice in the ICC Champions Trophy. Both times matches ended in draw.
This is the first and the last chance to register the victory over each other in the Champions trophy.
