KARACHI: Anti-Terrorism Court has announced death penalty to prime convict Shah Rukh Jatoi with three others in the verdict of Shahzeb Khan murder case on Friday.
The prime convict Shah Rukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur has been sentenced to death while ATC has announced life imprisonment for Ghulam Murtaza Lashari and Nawab Sajjad Ali Talpur.
Ghulam Mustafa Memon, ATC judge, has issued the judgement.
Moreover, each convict will have to pay Rs500,000 as fine over the attempted crime.
According to Shahrukh’s lawyer, we have the chance to appeal against the decision within 7 days and we will definitely appeal ATC’s decision as the court did not recorded our two witnesses during all hearings.
Shahzeb’s sibling Parishay Khan claimed that defendants and their powerful supporters are still putting tremendous pressure on her family and people closely associated with the case.
The Karachi teenager Shahzeb Khan was killed allegedly by Shahrukh Jatoi, son of a powerful feudal and industrial family, on December 25.
The prime suspect Shahrukh was accompanied by Nawab Siraj Ali Talpur and Nawab Sajjad Ali Talpur (brothers), his servant Ghulam Murtaza Lashari while 3 fugitive suspects has been termed as proclaimed offenders.
