Karachi: A strong political figure from southern province of Sindh, Agha Siraj Durrani has been elected as next speaker of the provincial assembly.
He has bagged 87 votes from the total number of cast vote, which were 151.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’s Irfanullah Khan Marwat and Muttahida Quami Movement’s Izharul Hasan were also contesting for the slot.
For the post of deputy speaker, Syeda Shehla Raza, who also worked on the same post in previous regime, was elected.
From MQM Heer Ismail Soho and PML-N’s Nusrat Bano Sehar Abbasi were also contesting for Deputy Speaker.
Meanwhile‚ Pakistan Peoples Party has nominated its Provincial President Syed Qaim Ali Shah as the leader of the House in the Sindh Assembly.
