LAHORE: US Ambassador Richard Olson visited Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Friday to talk over future planning in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.
According to local media, Richard Olson has visited the PTI chief Imran Khan on his resident to observe his priorities after the formation of provincial setup in KPK province.
The meetings come after Khan’s party secured the majority of seats in KPK province after the May 11 general elections and now in position to grip provincial management.
After the visit to PTI chief, the party’s vice-president Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Richard Olson has talked with media.
While talking to the media, PTI Vice President Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the meeting was done in a cordial manner in which we discussed the future planning of KPK government as well as Afghanistan issues which are linked with the province.
Qureshi answered a question on PTI role as opposition, he said we will not perform as friendly opposition in upcoming government but an active and responsible opposition.
He also described that PTI will not form the government with anyone’s support or collaboration.
Olson said that we are happy for the upholding of transparent election in Pakistan and we also termed it as the success of democracy.
US Ambassador said that the turnout in this election is more than all previous electoral events in the country.
Some sources claimed that US is having concerns over PTI statement against drone attacks as PTI officials has decided to pass resolution against the attacks in their government.
Earlier, US ambassador Richard Olson has met Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Nawaz Sharif in Raiwind to strengthen the relationships between United States of American and Pakistan .
