LONDON: Follow TheNewsTribe’s live updates on the Barcelona v Bayern Munich Champions League semi-final second leg here from 1800 GMT.

Bayern Munich wins 3-0 against Barcelona

90+1 mins: FULL-TIME – Barcelona 0 Bayern Munich 3 (0-7 on aggregate)

BAYERN MUNICH QUALIFY FOR THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL AGAINST BORUSSIA DORTMUND AT LONDON’S WEMBLEY STADIUM IN MAY 25.

86 mins: SUBSTITUTION – Barcelona make a change – Marc Bartra replaced by Martin Montoya

84 mins: David Villa stries a shot from outside the edge of the area but Manuel Neuer saves with ease.

77 mins: YELLOW CARD – Gerard Pique letting frustration get the better of him here, clattering through Thomas Mueller near the righthand corner-flag. He claims he won the ball – he did but only after cleaning out the Germany midfielder – and is rightly cautioned.

SUBSTITUTION: Skipper Philipp Lahm comes off, ensuring his availability for the final, and is replaced by Marcio Rafinha.

76 mins: GOAL! Barcelona 0 Bayern Munich 3 (0-7 on aggregate)

66 mins: SUBSTITUTION: Heynckes brings off Bastian Schweinsteiger, replacing him with Luis Gustavo, thereby dealing with the threat of his midfield dynamo missing the final.

64 mins: Alexis Sanchez nicks the ball off David Alaba in the Bayern area and sprints to the byline but Alaba gets back well to cross.

59 mins: Barcelona heads going down a bit here and Bayern threatening a second with Thomas Mueller firing in a shot blocked by Perdro Rodriguez.

55 mins: SUBSTITUTION: Tito Vilanova makes a change – Alexis Sanchez comes on for Xavi but Barcelona surely only have pride to play for now.

48 mins: GOAL! Barcelona 0 Bayern Munich 1 (0-5 on aggregate)

Surely that’s finally put this tie to bed – Arjen Robben fires in a sweetly-struck effort from inside the area into the top left corner of Victor Valdes’ goal.

1945 GMT: How long before we see Messi? After such a lack of creativity from his side in the first half, Tito Vilanova surely has to risk him soon – the Argentine’s clearly still struggling with the hamstring problem that hampered him in the first leg but he did manage to score as a second-half substitute against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.

YELLOW CARD – Dani Alves clatters into Bastian Schweinsteiger near the halfway line and goes into the book. That’s the last act of a half Jupp Heynckes will be pretty happy with.

40 mins: Fabregas works the ball out to Dani Alves on the right and the Brazilian whips in a dangerous cross but David Alaba gets his head to it – frustration already showing on the faces of a few Barcelona players and impatient whistles cascading down from the Barca faithful in the crowd.

37 mins: Bayern’s Franck Ribery rushes over to the touchline to have a heated discussion with coach Jupp Heynckes – seemingly some tactical tweaking going on but Bayern are weathering the Barcelona storm so far.

34 mins: Diagonal pass from Marc Bartra finds Pedro on the left flank who whips in a cross but Bayern clear it again.

Bayern break to the other end and the ball falls for Arjen Robben who lets fly from 25 yards but a Barcelona centre-back gets in the way and it balloons over the bar.

30 mins: More pressure from Barcelona who are slowly building a head of steam here – Xavi cuts it back to Fabregas in the area but Van Buyten gets a boot in to make a timely interception.

24 mins: CHANCE – First real effort for Barcelona as Pedro Rodriguez tests Manuel Neuer from 25 yards but Bayern’s ‘keeper tips it over.

The resulting corner is cleared but only to Dani Alves who crosses the ball in from the right towards Cesc Fabregas who is barged by a Bayern defender. The ball falls to Xavi who hooks the ball over the crossbar from the edge of the six-yard box.

Xavi appealing for a hand-ball there against Daniel Van Buyten but it’s waved away by the referee.

22 mins: “There have already been 2 or 3 times where Song has misplaced or not made a pass Busquets at his best would make. Another key piece missing,” writes Kieran Canning from the Camp Nou, referring to the injured Sergio Busquets.

20 mins: Barcelona getting their passing game going here, slowly building from the back and gaining the lion’s share of possession – but as the night goes on their trademark patience will have to go out of the window.

10 mins: Barcelona face a huge task ahead of them and the shouts are ringing around the Camp Nou in their favour — will this help them against what looks like it will be a typically solid Bayern defence?

1845 GMT: KICK-OFF at the Camp Nou – Bayern get the game under way.

1830 GMT: Just 15 minutes until kickoff now – can Barca upset the odds tonight? Most major British high street bookmakers don’t think so, pricing Tito Vilanova’s side at between 16/1 to 20/1 to qualify after that news about Messi.

1823 GMT: “To say the thousands of Bayern fans in Barca this afternoon were confident is an understatement. Can only imagine the mood now!” writes my colleague Kieran Canning from the Camp Nou.

“Big news from the Camp Nou is that Messi doesn’t start, bizarrely he is on the bench. Why even put him there if he isn’t fit?”

Barcelona are trailing 4-0 after last week’s extraordinary game in Munich but are hoping that Lionel Messi, who is recovering from injury but expected to start, can help them turn it around.

Defender Gerard Pique admits Barca have a tough job ahead of them at the Nou Camp but says: “The only team capable of overturning a four-goal deficit against Bayern is Barcelona.”

Bayern manager Jupp Heynckes intends to field a full-strength team despite the German side’s comfortable lead and is urging his players to show “great discipline” to get through to the final in London on May 25.
