With smartphones are getting bigger, tablets are getting smaller with a tough fight is likely between Apple iPad Mini 2 and Samung Galaxy tablets and other Android tablets.
Supply chain industry sources believe a fierce fight between iOS devices and Android devices in 2013 keeping in view of growing demand of mini tablets.
According to DigiTimes, Apple shipped 19.5 million units from period of January to March out of which 12.5 million units are Apple iPad Mini. This shows the growing market for mini tablets, from 7 to 8 inch display.
Quoting industry sources, DigiTimes predicts that iPad Mini 2 could be released in August.
As far as Android tablets are concerned, Nexus 7’s 4.5 million units were shipped in last months of 2012. The second generation of Nexus 7 from Google and Asustek computer is expected to be released in May with mass shipping in July.
And then there are tablets from Samsung like Tab 3, with smaller variation tablet Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 8. So we could expect a hot war between tech giants like Google, Samsung and Apple.
Whatever the tablet is, the end beneficiary is going to be the gadget lovers especially those who want pocket friendly tablets.
