PESHAWAR: Two blasts rocked the northwest province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while an election candidate remained safe in the incident.
Two explosives planted alongside the road, located in Kalachi area, went off. The bombs apparently targeted candidate Israr Khan and his guard.
In yet another incident in the Sirki Gate are of the province, a suspicious blast near a house injured four people. The incident caused damage to several houses. Police are investigating the cause of the incident and the explosives used.
It may be mentioned here that a surge in the incidents of targeting elections candidates is on the rise in the province and elsewhere, apparently to degrade the election process.
Moreover, Peshawar has been the center of terrorist activities recently, urging tougher and prompt action against the responsible.
