Washington: Boston Police has denied claims of US media that arrest was made in connection of the deadly bombings in the city that killed three people and injured more than 170.
In a statement through twitter, the department said “Despite reports to the contrary there has not been an arrest in the Marathon attack.”
Earlier, citing unnamed U.S. law enforcement source, CNN reported that the alleged culprit was arrested with the help of videos.
“Close circuit cameras helped identifying a man leaving a bag that was a bomb,” it said.
Meanwhile, Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a US official told The Associated Press on Wednesday a suspect has been taken into custody in the Boston Marathon bombings.
The official says the suspect is expected in federal court in Boston.
