QUETTA: At least four people including Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Balochistan chapter’s President Sanaullah Zehri’s son, brother were killed in a blast near the leader’s convoy in Khuzdar district of the province, sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said that Zehri remained safe in the blast as he was in a bullet-proof vehicle. “At least 30 to 40 people have been injured in the blast.”
“The dead include Mir Sikandar — Zehri’s elder son — his brother, Mehrullah and two others.”
Levies sources said that the remote-controlled blast occurred in Injeera area of the Khudzar district.
PML-N Leader Mushahidullah strongly condemned the incident and demanded the interim government to provide security to political leaders during election campaign.
In October 2011, Sardar Sanaullah Zehri had escaped an attempt on his life near Surab in Kalat district.
Later, the Baloch Liberation Front claimed responsibility for that attack.
