Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday expressed its discontent over the statement from caretaker interior minister Malik Habib Khan favouring PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif.
According to sources, in a letter written from Secretary ECP Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan to caretaker Prime Minister Mir Hazar Khan Khoso, the election body said that such statements from any minister could influence the free and fair polls in the country.
Khan further demanded that PM should make sure that the ministers remain unbiased during their almost three month tenure.
Several mainstream parties of Pakistan criticized the minister over his support for the PML-N chief and demanded that the minister should resign immediately.
