Rawalpindi: Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has launched its 10th phase of Education Voucher Scheme to promote education between the poor children of 28 districts in Punjab province of Pakistan.
Raja Anwar said that the programme will start in May in which 10,000 education vouchers will be issued to poor and deserving children of age 5-16 years to get free school education till matriculation.
PEF Chairman Raja Anwar has revealed the details of EVS programme while addressing the geometry boxes distribution ceremony at its regional office before the students, teachers and principals of EVS partner school of Attock, Chakwal and Rawalpindi districts.
He added that the total number of EVS beneficiary students will be raised to 150,000 after getting educational vouchers and around 4 million deserving children of Punjab province will receive benefits till 2018 by the scheme.
The PEF chairman said that he is quite satisfied by the attendance ratio of schools observed by PEF which is over 90 percent and now latest ideal mark reader technology is being used in paper checking.
He urged the partners to encourage the poor families in their areas to educate send their children by sending them to schools which will enrich their future.
