LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) disposed the dual office case against President Asif Ali Zardari after his counsel assured the court that Zardari has resigned as the co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
President Zardari’s counsel Wasim Sajjad also assured the court that the Presidency will not be used for political activities.
The bench, headed by Chief Justice of LHC Umar Ata Bandial, was hearing the case.
The Chief Justice in his remarks welcomed the move and said the decision reflected the importance of the Constitution and rule of law in the country.
