Islamabad: Rejecting the applications of Naheed Khan and Ghinwa Bhutto, the Election Commission of Pakistan on Tuesday registered the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The ECP rejected Naheed Khan, the right-hand person of slain PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto, application, to register the PPP in her name, due to incomplete papers.
The commission has also allotted the new Bilawal’s PPP with “Two Swords” as electoral symbol of the party.
A three member bench of the commission headed by Justice (retd) Riaz Kayani had reserved verdict over the registration of the PPP on Monday.
The ECP also rejected the Ghinwa Bhutto chairperson of the Pakistan People’s Party-Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB) request to register her party as the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).
