New York: Pepsi is re-designing its bottles for the first time in nearly two decades, the New York based beverage maker said this week.
The company said that the reason behind this decision is to recover its lost four per cent market share snatched by its competitor Coca-Cola.
The new bottles feature a slightly wider bottom and swirled grip meant to make it easier to hold.
The re-designed bottles will be used for regular Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Pepsi Max and Pepsi Next which will appear in the starting of April in New York, Orlando, Ohio and California.
Pepsi is also considering the launch of the new bottles worldwide depending on how they perform in the US.
Previously, the beverage maker has restyled its single-serve bottles in 1996.
