Islamabad: Price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is likely to be increased by around Rs13 after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) restored on Tuesday imposition of surcharge.
A two-member divisional bench of the court comprising of Justice Anwarul Haq Qadri and Justice Riaz Ahmed Khan resumed the hearing over a review petition against the court’s earlier order which had declared the imposition of surcharge in the price of CNG as unlawful.
The petition was submitted by the Federal Ministry of Petroleum.
After the order, the collection of surcharge on CNG will be allowed until a detailed verdict is issued in the case.
Earlier on February 1, a single member bench of the IHC comprising of Justice Shaukat A. Siddiqui had declared the imposition of surcharge on the price of CNG as unlawful.
