Islamabad: Saudi Arabia has played a key role in former President Pervez Musharraf’s possible return to Pakistan by convincing the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) over not creating any hurdle, a report said on Monday.
Ahmed Raza Qasoori, the central leader of Musharraf’s All Pakistan Muslim League (APML), says Sharif brothers have close relationship with the Saudi officials therefore they have convinced both the brother to not create any obstruction on his return.
The former president during press conference in Dubai has recently announced to end his self-imposed exile and said that he would return to Pakistan within one week after the interim setup.
“Musharraf announced the return after getting assurance from the PML-N leaders,” the report quoting sources said.
However, when a local news agency contacted PML-N’s Secretary Information Mushahid Ullah to comment over the news report, he said he had no knowledge over the issue.
