Dubai: Former Pakistan President and founder of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Pervez Musharraf on Friday announced the end of his self-imposed exile and said he will return to the country within one week after interim government.
Addressing a press conference in Dubai, Musharraf did not confirm the city but said that he would land in the Karachi, Islamabad or Rawalpindi and will face the cases in the courts.
He said that his heart was ‘bleeding’ for his country. “I am not going to Pakistan to create enemies. It’s time for reconciliation. For all those who love Pakistan, I would like to tell them that I am returning to Pakistan because I love Pakistan.”
He said that the religious terrorism was eating the country from the inside, adding Pakistan was being destroyed in the name of religion.
Commenting over the general elections, he said that the elections should held free and fair, adding that his party would fully participate in the elections.
The former president said that the polls would transparent if held under the Army supervision. He said that his party was in favour of the imposition of Article 62 and 63 of the Constitution.
