Islamabad: Pakistan Interior Minister Rehman Malik has filed a plea in the Supreme Court, seeking unconditional apology to the apex court in contempt case.
A Supreme Court bench heard the contempt notice against Malik for allegedly influencing the investigation in the Pakistan Steel Mills case.
During the hearing, the interior minister filed an unconditional apology to the court saying he could not even think to commit contempt of the judiciary.
He said that he had always respected the judiciary and he never used contemptuous word against the courts.
Subsequently, the court adjourned the hearing of the contempt case till March 16.
Later, speaking to media outside the Supreme Court, Malik said that he wanted to fight his case himself, adding that he had increased the canvas of investigation in the case.
The minister said that he would continue to expose militant outfits in the country.
