Islamabad: Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan and Afghan Taliban are planning to abduct foreigners in order to pressurize governments in Afghanistan and Pakistan to free their commanders and other aides before the withdrawal of US forces.
According to a circular conveyed to DG Rangers and police authorities, the intelligence agencies have warned that the militant groups run by both Mullah Omar and Hakeem Ullah Mehsud are planning for abductions in Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan.
The militants are mulling over to abduct foreigners including diplomats and non government organization (NGO) activists, the circular said.
It is to be mentioned here that several Taliban militants are imprisoned in the jails of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
