Washington: At least two University of Maryland students were killed and another injured in a murder-suicide attempt in Maryland, a state of United States, here on Tuesday.
According to police, at approximately 1:17 a.m., they received a report of a shooting at a single family home on the 8700 block of 36th Avenue in College Park, Maryland.
“When we arrived on the scene, we found one of the students shot in front of the house, one student down on the street critically shot and a third student in the backyard who was pronounced dead at the scene.”
According to police, one student set fire in the basement to draw roommates to the basement.
Police officials said that all three exited the house and went to the front of the house. The student who allegedly set the fire then started shooting and struck one roommate. The second roommate was shot while trying to run away. Then police say that the gunman went to the back of the home and turned the gun on himself.
The investigators further said that the weapon used in the crime was recovered and that they are not searching for any more suspects.
