Muscat: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight met an accident at Muscat airport, however all the passengers onboard in the plan remained unhurt, report said on Monday.
According to reports, the aircraft carrying 107 passengers met the accident after its landing gear broke off shortly after touchdown. The aircraft skidded along the tarmac on its belly, sparks flying, and a fire broke out in the starboard engine before it came to a halt.
“All the passengers and the staff remained unhurt miraculously,” The News Tribe Urdu quoted sources in the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
Sources in the PIA termed the incident as horrible and said that the airport had been closed following the accident.
