Mumbai: England beat India by 32 runs in a charged match of ICC Women’s World Cup at Brabourne Stadium on Sunday, thanks to Katherine Brunt four wickets for 29.
Harmanpreet Kaur’s century did not help India from rescuing the match and the hosts could only make it to 240 runs in reply to England’s 272 runs.
Danielle Wyatt took two wickets for England, and Arran Brindle, Laura Marsh and Anya Shrubsole took one wicket apiece.
Barring first, England set a 273-run target for the hosts, with captain Charlotte Edwards scoring 109 runs off 123.
Both teams have two points after playing two matches each in their group.
