Islamabad: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Babar Khan Ghouri on Friday claimed that the Rangers personnel were running illegal gambling houses in Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan.
Talking to media representatives outside the Parliament House, the MQM leader said that the personnel were assisting gamblers to run their businesses in Baldia Town area of Karachi.
“Low level officials are involved in this crime,” he said adding that the criminals feel no danger in the presence of such personnel and openly run their illegal affairs in the area.
Ghouri further demanded Interior Minister Rehman Malik and DG Rangers to take strict action against the security personnel as it has put the credibility of the institution at stake.
Earlier on Friday, the Awami National Party (ANP) also demanded the deployment of Pakistan Army in the city amid increased targeted killing incidents.
The party alleged that the Rangers and other law enforcement authorities deployed in the city have failed to overcome the criminal activities.
