Mian Channu: The body of National Accountability Bureau investigator Kamran Faisal is being exhumed after the magistrate of Mian Channu, Chaudhry Shafiq Ahmed Shafi, reserved the order.
Investigating officer and Inspector of Islamabad Secretariat police station, Mubaral Mand had filed a request in Magistrate’s court to exhume Faisal’s body.
Faisal’s father Chaudhry Abdul Hameed agreed to the exhumation with some reservations during the plea’s hearing.
He demanded that sanctity of the grave and dead body should be maintained during the process, and the body should be buried with a new coffin after the investigations.
Faisal, who had been investigating a multi-million corruption case of so-called Rental Power Projects involving Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, was mysteriously found hanging from the ceiling fan of his room on January 18.
