Karachi: The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has established Sharia courts in Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan, and a large number of people are using them to get disputes resolved, instead of waiting for action by the courts setup by state.
In a report on Wednesday, Pakistani news channel ‘Dunya TV’ claimed that it had obtained several letter written to traders and business community from the banned outfits for extortion.
The letters also showed the convictions given by the militant courts to those who refused to abide their orders.
The courts were setup in mostly Pashtun-dominated areas including Sohrab Goth, Gulshan-e-Bunir and Ittehad Town.
Meanwhile, the extortion letters sent from the militants demanded business community to pay an amount between Rs.5 lacks to Rs.20 lacks.
