Islamabad: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) has decided not to take part in the PML-N led sit-in outside Parliament. This decision was taken during the party’s strategic committee meeting held here on Sunday.
According to PTI leader Imran Ismail, the meeting was attended by Chairman Imran Khan, Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and other leaders of the party. A video-link was also setup for representatives from Karachi.
The country’s political situation and the upcoming general elections were discussed during the meeting. It was decided that under the present circumstances an alliance with the PML-N was not possible which is why the PTI would not be taking part in the sit-in.
Earlier Imran Khan had announced that the PTI would support any sit-in for the strengthening of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
