Islamabad: Interviews of short-listed candidates were held here at Higher Education Commission (HEC), Islamabad in pursuance of orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan dated 20th December 2012 wherein the commission was directed for recruitment/ appointment of new Executive Director(ED) of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan within 30 days.
The interviews were conducted by the selection board dully approved by HEC governing board (commission). All the selection board members attended the meeting.
The selection board was chaired by Dr. Javaid R. Laghari Chairperson HEC and included Mr. Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar Federal Secretary Ministry of Science & Technology Pakistan, Engr. Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani Executive Director HEC, Mrs. Razina Alam Khan Member Commission HEC, Engr. Ahmed Farooq Bazai Vice Chancellor Balochistan University of Information Technology, Engineering and Management Sciences Quetta, Mr. Sartaj Aziz Vice Chancellor Beaconhouse National University Lahore and Mr. Awais Ahmed Director General HRM HEC/Secretary Selection Board.
Twelve candidates appeared in the interview. The selection board shortlisted the top candidates and recommended their names to the commission for appointment as ED HEC.
Dr. Javaid R. Laghari extended thanks to board members for assisting in implementation of historic decision of Supreme Court of Pakistan and making the selection process transparent.
