Quetta: The provincial assembly in Balochistan on Tuesday adopted three separate resolutions including the one against recently imposed governor’s rule in the province.
Earlier, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Sunday dismissed the provincial government and announced to impose Governor’s rule in Balochistan, an insurgency hit-province of Pakistan.
The announcement was made after the Shiite protestors in Quetta stage a three-day sit-in along with 86 bodies of the Alamdar road blasts, demanding the dissolution of the provincial government, which failed to protect the lives of the people.
The two other resolutions passed were against the Thursday’s incidents of Bacha Khan Chowk blast and Alamdar Road incident in Quetta where scores of civilians were brutally killed.
The resolution against governor’s rule was tabled by independent MPA Shah Nawaz Marri and was adopted with clear majority.
Marri said the act by the federal government was a direct assault on democracy itself.
He said governor’s rule was imposed after “just a couple blasts in Quetta,” whereas it was not forced when the Abbottabad was raided by the US Seals to kill Osama bin Laden and when GHQ and Kamra Air Base came under attack from the militants.
