Quetta: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Sunday contacted Pakistan People Party (PPP) allies in Federal and provincial assembly of Balochistan, an insurgency-hit province.
The Prime Minister contacted the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Awami National Party (ANP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
The PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, MQM leader Altaf Hussain and ANP head Asfandyar Wali supported the Governor’s rule in the province.
On the other hand, the provincial allies of PPP refuse any unconstitutional step including Governor’s rule and calling in of Pakistan Army in the province but agreed to change the chief minister through electoral process.
The Balochistan allies who met the prime minister include leaders of Balochistan National Party-Awami, Jamiat Ulemai-i-Islam-Fazl, independent candidates and other groups.
