Karachi: Governor Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ibad and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Thursday directed authorities to arrest the culprits involved in the brutal murder of Shahzeb Khan in Defence area of Karachi within five days.
Shahzeb was killed allegedly by Shahrukh Jatoi near Mubarak Masjid in DHA on Tuesday night. The killing resulted from a small argument he had with Nawab Siraj Talpur, when the latter’s servant verbally harassed his sister.
Talpur and his friend, Jatoi, allegedly followed Shahzeb and shot him.
According to sources, a five-member committee has been formed by IG Sindh Fayyaz Leghari which would investigate the matter and submit its report in next five days.
The committee would be presided by DIG South Zone Shahid Hayat.
On Wednesday, Hayat confirmed the claims by some of the media outlets that the prime suspect of Shahzeb Khan’s murder case, Shahrukh Jatoi, has escaped from Pakistan in an illegal way.
Hayat said that although Shahrukh Jatoi, was been able to flee away from Pakistan but the authorities had contacted Australian High Commission for his return.
The police on Tuesday arrested the family manager of main culprit, Shahrukh Jatoi, near Supreme Court Registry in Karachi. The security guard of Jatoi was also arrested on Monday and moved to an undisclosed location for further interrogation;Â however, the police said that a case had not been registered against him yet.
