Islamabad: Dr. Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) has said that “Suicide is forbidden in Islam, Human life if God’s Trust and nobody have right to betrayal this trust and commits suicide, Because life and death are in God’s hand.”. He was addressing to the participants of workshop on “Psychological Autopsy” organized by the Dept. of Psychology of the university.
He said that the treatment of every decease is prevailing in the Holy Quran therefore the Psychiatrist may focus on Quran & Sunnah for the treatments of psychological decease, because they will find proper guidance regarding psychological deceases in this divine source of knowledge.
He added that the secret of treatment of psychological deceases is also hidden in the strengthening of Eeman because without the strengthening of Eeman psychological deceases cannot be cured.
He said that in the world of despair Allah is the biggest source of support for the man therefore man should divert his attention towards Allah in such a situation and for this purpose he should recite Holly Quran regularly.
Earlier Dr. Murad Musa Khan, Head of Dept. of Psychology, Agha Khan Medical University, Karachi delivered a lecture on the topic and discussed in length the trends of suicide and its causing in Pakistan.
