New Delhi: Atleast nine Pakistan hockey players will be seen in action in the Hockey India League which is going to be introduced on the pattern of Indian Premier League of cricket in India.
Mohammad Rashid from Pakistan was the most costly player as he was sold for $41,000 to Bombay Magicians.
Fareed Ahmed was bought for $21,000 by a Mumbai franchised team. The team also bought Mohammad Tauseeq for $27,000 and goalkeeper Imran Butt for $5,500.
Mohammad Rizwan for $25,000 and Rizwan Junior for $10,000 were bought by Delhi Wave Riders.
Another Pakistan player Kashif Shah was bought by Punjab Warriors for $9,500.
Ranchi Rhinos purchased forward Shafqat Rasool and Mohammad Irfan for $10,000 and $5,000 respectively.
Pakistan hockey team captain Mohammad Imran, forward Abdul Haseem Khan and Mohammad Waqas were unable to attract any franchise.
