London: In the wake of a tragedy which took a life of a British man after dancing to PSY’s tack Gangnam Stye, Professor Bernard Keavney, a consultant cardiologist at Newcastle University, has said that that men should not “stray outside [their] comfort zone” at Christmas parties.
“The chance that you’ll come to grief is very small. But as with any form of untypical exercise that you’re not used to taking, be somewhat measured. Let the lady dance around you,” he told the Telegraph.
On December 8, 46-year-old Eamonn Kilbride died from a heart attack after dancing to the tack at an office Christmas party.
“I certainly wouldn’t say that people need to avoid Gangnam Style over the holidays. [But] if you’re unused to taking vigorous physical exercise, you shouldn’t throw yourself into violent exertion without due preparation,” Keavney said.
Kilbride was doing the energetic dance moves made famous by the Korean pop star, but seconds later he suddenly collapsed.
