Peshawar: “Corruption runs into our blood now. We have, in our full consciousness, become a corrupt nation.”
These views were expressed by the information minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mian Iftikhar when seemingly reacting to a report of Transparency International on corruption in Pakistan.
Iftikhar deemed corruption as the reason behind losing Eastern wing of the country. “We could neither make Pakistan an Islamic country, nor a democratic republic”.
He also said people don’t vote for them if they ‘do not favor them, whether right or wrong. “If someone asks us how much we have changed after coming into power, we would become speechless,” he concluded.
