Lahore: Faysal Bank T20 experienced yet another upset on Wednesday as minnows Multan Tigers outperformed star studded Sialkot Stallions by 42 runs in a group A match played here at Bagh-e-Jinnah cricket ground.
Multan Tigers winning the toss opted to bat first and set a handsome target against the mighty Stallions that turned out to be far too much for them as they bundled out to just 113 in 20 overs.
Multan Tigers were off to an average start, first wicket falling in the third over at the score of 19 but the second and sixth wicket partnerships of 44 and 54 led the team reach the total of 155 with the loss of 6 wickets.
Sohaib Maqsood, Gulraiz Sadaf and Naved Yasin scored 38, 32 and 34 helping the team to create tough fight against the stronger opponents.
Adeel Malik took 3 wickets giving 17 runs for Sialkot.
In reply, Stallions got short by a huge margin of 42 as it 5 wickets were fallen at just 29 in 8 overs. Nayyer Abbas and skipper Shoaib Malik were the only two who showed some resilience.
Tigers’ talented left arm off spinner Zulfiqar Babar bowled a magical spell of 4 overs, bagging 4 wickets of 15 runs. He was declared the man of the match for his brilliant performance.
