Karachi: Turkish Coast Guard delegation comprising of 5 officers arrived Pakistan on Tuesday for a visit of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) from 4 – 7 Dec 2012.
The delegation was headed by Rear Admiral (UH) Hasan USAKLIOGLU.
During their stay in Pakistan, Delegation visited HQ Maritime Security Agency to discuss matters of mutual interests and enhancement of bilateral relations between the tow law enforcement agencies.
The delegation was briefed about the role, functions and importance of Pakistan Maritime Security Agency.
Both the LEAs discussed maters/issues related with joint training, martime security in Indian Ocean and concept of collaborative security against piracy.
Additionally, topics of anti drug trafficking and human smuggling were also come under discussion during interactive sessions.
It was decided to conduct joint workshops on topics of maritime security which were also agreed during the meeting.
It may be recalled that recent years have witnessed enhanced cooperation between PMSA and Turkish Coast Guard.
In this connection, a high level delegation of PMSA headed by Cdre Azir Mumtaz (SBt) visited Turkish Coast Guard in June 2012.
