Melbourne: Pakistan and India lost their group matches of the FIH Champions Trophy hockey against Australia and Germany respectively in Melbourne on Tuesday.
Pakistan lost to Australia by 1-0 after giving them a tough fight. Pakistan players played well hockey during the match but conceded a goal in the second half.
In other game, Germany beat India by 3-2.
In the quarterfinals, India will face Belgium on Thursday, who finished fourth and last in Pool B.
India and Germany both finished on six points from three matches but the former won Pool A due to a better goal difference. Germany finished in second place.
On Wednesday, Pakistan will take on Germany.
