Mumbai: The cyber crime cell of the Mumbai crime branch have blocked fake Facebook accounts of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray’s son Amit and daughter Urvashi.
The action was taken after MNS chief lodged a complaint to the police after party members informed him that there were fake accounts of his children on the social networking site.
Police said that they are taking necessary measures in order to trace the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the fake accounts’ creator.
“We have blocked the accounts on the social networking site as soon as we were informed,” a crime branch officer said.
The MNS members were irked by the objectionable content posted on the accounts about Bal Thackeray and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.
