Pakistan’s premier cueist whipped Australian opponent Vinnie Calabrese in straight frames with the scores of 63-40, 115-14, 69-65, 67-55, 67-15 in the last 32 meeting on Friday, Pakistan Billiards & Snooker Association (PBSA) said.
With the second successive crucial victory in the knockout stage, Asif makes his way to the quarter finals of the event.
Asif had earlier outclassed Yaser Elsherbiny of Egypt 4-1 with the scores of 65-28, 109-26, 78-45, 28-69, 59-6 in his last 64 clash.
Meanwhile, Pakistan number two, Asjad Iqbal, crashed out of the event by falling in the very first knockout stint against Billy Castle of England.
