Islamabad: Prime Minister of Pakistan, Raja Pervez Ashraf has annulled all previous actions of the interior ministry relating to mobile SIMs.
The decision was made during his meeting with the high-ups of mobile companies on Thursday.
Raja Pervez permitted the companies to sell SIMs at their franchises, but said ‘they will first have to get it endorsed from Nadra’. He also said these will not be sold until a biometrics system is installed in the country.
The PM also deemed it imperative for the users to hold a valid IMEI (mobile identification) number. He, on the occasion, nullified the process of receiving SIMs by post.
