Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL: World no. 1 tennis star Novak Djokovic and former three time French Open champion Gustavo Kuerten both on Sunday in Rio de Janeiro played a charity soccer game before a Brazilian league match.
Djokovic joined Kuerten on Friday in the Rocinha shantytown to open a public tennis court. Djokovic also played a tennis exhibition match with Kuerten on Saturday. The Brazilians defeated the top-ranked player in the match.
Djokovic’s fellow Serbian, Dejan Petkovic, organized the exhibition football match that had been starred for several Brazilian clubs in the past decade. Zico and Bebeto, former Brazilian stars, were also among the participants.
The match was played at Engenhao stadium. The spectators enjoyed the soccer game of tennis star as he surprised the audience by his wonderful performance.
