Lahore: Punjab Inspector General (IG) of Police Haji Habib-ur-Rehman has claimed that they have arrested two terrorists involved in the Kamra Airbase attack and killing eleven security personnel including seven soldiers.
He said that the police have also recovered suicide jackets and heavy quantity of explosives from the terrorists’ possession.
Speaking at a press conference on Friday along with regional police officer Ameen Venus in Lahore, he said that the offenders Shafiq Ahmed and his son Abdur Rehman were arrested from Beriwala Gujarat and Mozer Sagar respectively.
“During interrogation they have admitted their involvement in Kamra Airbase attack, killing of four police personnel at Gujarat check post and seven military men at Chenab Bridge.”
The IG further said that they had recovered sophisticated weapons, 25 hand grenades and bulky material enough to prepare 60 suicide jackets with 15 prepared from their possession.
Responding to a question, he said that the culprits belonged to Hakeem Baitullah Mehsud group.
