Karachi: Former President of Pakistan General Retired Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday said conspiracy was being hatched against Pakistan Army.
Musharraf was giving an interview to a British radio in which he said the army was surrounded by conspiracies recently. “If you want to weaken Pakistan, you will have to weaken the army. That is what happening currently in Pakistan,” he said.
Musharraf said he ordered intelligence agencies to stay out of politics. We decided not to intervene in political system, he added.
He further said in tribal areas mostly extremists and militants were killed in drone attacks. A very few of innocent people became victim of those attacks but number of victims were reported exaggeratedly.
There was no written or oral agreement between I and America about drone attacks and I used to protest to President Bush on phone, said Musharraf.
He also said opening previous cases was good for nothing. “It is time to forget the past and focus over present and future.”
