Peshawar: At least nine militants were killed and several others injured when Pakistani security forces conducted an operation in Khyber Agency of the country’s northwestern tribal region, sources said on Friday morning.
The sources said that the forces pounded the militants’ hideouts with gunship helicopters in Akakhel area of the agency, killing at least nine militants and injuring several others. “The forces have destroyed five hideouts of the militants.”
Pakistani security forces have been battling against the militants fighting under the banner of Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP) since 2004.
