Islamabad: Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders have advised PPP Co-Chairman and Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari to step down from his party post after Supreme Court verdict in Asghar Khan case.
Supreme Court of Pakistan in Asghar Khan verdict stated that president house is the symbol of the unity of the nation and it should not be used for the political activities.
According to sources, although some senior PPP leaders have suggested that Zardari should leave the party post but the final decision would be made by the president himself.
“PPP leader and president’s sister Faryal Talpur will be the strongest contender for the post,” they added.
