Islamabad: Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that Supreme Court ruling in Asghar Khan was not given on Pakistan People’s Party’s plea.
Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, he said that PPP’s opponents always came in power through conspiring against the party.
He said that though election in 88 was also rigged by agencies, the PPP won majorities of the seats. He said Islami Jamhuri Ittehad (IJI) was found in 1986, at the time of Benazir Bhutto’s arrival in Pakistan.
He said “some people are demanding UN investigation while some say they don’t accept investigation through FIA”. Kaira added that the court verdict had exposed that how Chaudhry Nisar’s cronies rigged election in the past.
The minister demanded of the PML-N leadership to apologize to the people for robbing of their rights. “Everybody knows how General Gilani made Nawaz Sharif chief minister,” he added.
“We will also come up with proofs to expose 1996 heavy mandate,” Kaira said making a reference to the Nawaz League’s historical triumph in general election.
